Before I Die - Jenny Downham

Title: Before I Die

Author: Jenny Downham

Time It Took To Read: 6 Days

Plot:  Tessa has just months to live. Fighting back against hospital visits, endless tests, drugs with excruciating side-effects, Tessa compiles a list. It’s her To Do Before I Die list. And number one is Sex. Released from the constraints of ‘normal’ life, Tessa tastes new experiences to make her feel alive while her failing body struggles to keep up. Tessa’s feelings, her relationships with her father and brother, her estranged mother, her best friend, and her new boyfriend, all are painfully crystallised in the precious weeks before Tessa’s time finally runs out.

My Opinion: I think this book is probably one of the best books I have ever read. I love the way the book makes you feel her pain and feel like you are Tessa Scott. I would definitely read more of Jenny Downham's books! Although I could not read a certain chapter because it made me feel unwell I would still very much recommend this book to anyone 13 or over! My favourite part in the book is when she goes shoplifting with her best friend and they meet old schoolmates or when she jumps into a dirty river with a drunk man.

How To Survive A Summer Camp - Jacqueline Wilson

How To Survive A Summer Camp.
Title: How To Survive A Summer Camp.

Plot: Stella Stebbings is forced to this camp called EverGreen while her parents go away on thier honeymoon. She meets some nice people, such as Marzipan and Alan, and some very nasty people , such as Karen and Louise, along the way. She has ways to deal with them though. Stella is terrified of swimming or to be even in water at all because of a tragic incident caused by her actuall father. Her mother and father are divorced and her mum is getting married to a new person. But here are a few mysteries going on like her special fairy book being torn to pieces, a loud crying coming from down the hall and a wetpath in the bedroom. But when stella finds out that one of the teachers, Mrs.Markham, has been keeping a baby fox it begins to all make sense.
